Synopsis

Black Star, Maka, Soul, and Tsubaki are taking supplementary classes, because they have not captured a single soul. They are to go to a graveyard, where they have to fight against the zombie of their previous teacher, Sid Barett. Sid attacks them, wielding his own gravestone as a weapon. Maka and Soul attempt their Soul Resonance, "Witch Hunt" but are unable to control it properly. Black Star captures Sid with Tsubaki's chain, and it is revealed that Shinigami knows that the one who made Sid a zombie was Death Scythe's first partner before he worked with Maka's mother, Dr. Franken Stein.

The episode starts out with Phantom Priest Rasputin, crashing through a church window. Soul and Maka then proceed to take His soul by cutting him in half. The next morning Soul is in bed sleeping when Blair wakes him up and is trying to get him out of bed to play with her when Maka walks in telling him to get up and its time for breakfast. Soul is then kicked out the window by Maka for his perverted attitude.

Trivia

• Shinigami made the comment that altogether Maka, Soul, Black Star, and Tsubaki had captured a total of zero souls. Despite this comment Maka and Soul had actually captured the soul of Rasputin earlier on the night before.
• In the anime it isn't noted how Maka, Soul, Black Star, and Tsubaki find out Stein is the culprit, however in the Manga Black Star coaxes it out of Sid by lifting up Tsubaki's clothing and Soul lifts up Maka's skirt.
