“ | The other 10% is the "EAT" (Especially Advanced Talent) Class, for agents who use their powers to battle evil. | ” |
—Sid Barrett, Soul Eater NOT!, Chapter 4 |
The Especially Advantaged Talent Class (a.k.a. E.A.T Class) is the advanced general curriculum in Death Weapon Meister Academy.[1]
Overview[]
In this general advancement curriculum, agents (teacher and student) in this class use their power to fight against evil. The last 10% of the student body make up and follow this curriculum.[1]
Student Life[]
Livelihood[]
Generally, students live in either rented apartments or school dormitrories, the former usually done in order to establish a deeper bound with their respective partner and are optional for those who attend schools away from their parents. Like the N.O.T Class, students in attendance also receive a weekly allowance of $200 to spend per week of neccessities. Those who spend all of their money are able to earn more money by working part-time jobs around Death City, in which pays by the day.[7][8] Jobs include waiters/waitress at Deathbucks Café, delivery at Death Shipping, cleaning the city's community pool, and working at other positions at Death Records, Restaurant Munehisa, and drugstores.[9]
Privileges[]
Unlike the N.O.T Class, the E.A.T student body enjoy more privileges; outside the academy, proven EAT students are able to ride upon a vehicle (i.e moped) without a license.[10] On occassion, they may be called in by the academy's instructors to act as tutors and mentors for first-year students within the N.O.T Class.[8]
Special activities & occurences[]
- Sponsoring: Popularly known weapon and meisters are able to have sponsors with which they make deals with corporate sponsors to make money and get rich. Students who signs deals to do sponsors may use the money they earn towards donations.[11]
- Quests: Missions undertaken exclusively by the E.A.T. Class student and faculty body outside the academy and are dangerous. Many of their missions revolves around the execution of those on Lord Death's list[12] as well as investigations of supernatural occurrences and assassinations.[12] The quests are organized into different ranks; each student also has a rank. Depending on their corresponding rank, they're allowed to take on missions suited for them. These quests seem to be organized by the Receptionist as well as N.O.T Students in order by rank and posted on the mission board in the academy.[13]
- Death Festival: A special event held on Halloween in which students and inhabitants of Death City alike dress up and host battle tournaments, with only EAT Class members able to participate. The grand prize for winning the tournament waas a personal meeting session with Death.[8]

Student Ranking[]

A one star student badge.
Similar to staff and faculty members, the students in the EAT Class at DWMA are assigned designated rankings based on their competence, indicated by stars. However, their ranking system slightly differs from that of staff and faculty members, as well as high-ranking members of the academy. As students, they possess different powers compared to instructors and staff members of the same star rank.[18] Official meister and weapon teams share the same star status as each other.[19]
This information is recorded in a badge carried by the student, which includes their name, miscellaneous information, and their rank. The rank determines the types of quests they are capable of undertaking.[20][18] Additionally, the badge also indicates the "Information Level" clearance a meister/weapon has in the DWMA's library, divided into category levels 1-4. However, achieving the last two clearance levels requires special designations beyond the star status of an individual.[18]
