Golems Battle of Brew

Snow golems

A Golem (ゴーレム, Gōremu) is an artificial creation constructed from earth that is infused with magic and then shaped into form. This is all conducted by Enchanters.

They are made to perform defense and are akin to moving shields, and, because of this, they normally will abstain from attacking unless what they are ordered to protect, are threatened or when under possession of some kind, like when Arachne possessed the Oldest Golem. The size and shape of an individual golem differs greatly and can be due to a number of factors, from role and materials on hand to the preferences or style of the Enchanter that created them. However, all the golems produced in Loew Village did have one thing in common: the word "emeth" inscribed on their torsos. The Oldest Golem of the series was created 800 years prior to the present. Large numbers of them have recently been seen to be working for Arachnophobia.

It is said that Golems, considered by many to be simply objects, will be unaffected by Asura's Madness Wavelength up until it completely consumes the world.

  • In Jewish legend, the golem is a protector made of mud or rocks that is magically animated by writing an inscription on its body, or on a piece of paper fed to the golem.
    • The word "emeth" written on those golems from Loew body comes from the Hebrew word "Emet" (אמת) meaning "truth," which in many tales is believed to be the word used to activate a golem.
    • Upon rubbing away the first letter, aleph, what remains is "met" ("death"), which shuts down the golem.[1]
