A Grim Reaper (死神, Shinigami; also "Reaper") is a powerful god that presides over balance.

Overview

Able to appear as either humanoid (like that of human) or have a inhuman form with some humanly characteristics (i.e Death), grim reapers are known to be powerful gods. As gods, they're expressed to be an authority over souls, maintain a equilibrium of good and evil, support freewill (with the exception of killing) and are overall guardians of Earth. Due to their great power and overall role, they are subjected to being revered and are even worshiped.

Special Abilities

• High Physical Abilities (高い身体能力, Takai Karada Nōryoku): As gods, grim reapers possess a high physical prowess vastly superior to that of an ordinary human making them capable of contending with even a kishin that possess the black blood. (i.e Asura).
• Magic (魔法, Mahō): Originating from their blood, Grim Reapers are capable of perfoming magic similar to magic that follows their theme of Death's mask.
• Soul-Sensing Abilities (魂感知能力, Tamashī Kanchi Nōryoku): Like humans, grim reapers possess abilities that allows them to sense souls.

Fighting Styles

• Reaper Combat Art (死神体術, Shishin Taijutsu): A grim reaper-related martial that uses different stances in certain combat situations.

Meister Techniques

• Wavelength Control (波長コントロール, Hachō Kontorōru): Able to be capable meisters, Grim Reapers are able to manipulate their wavelength and are capable of resonating with any weapon.

• In Soul Eater: Battle Resonance, both Death and Death the Kid share the same, purple and lightning-like effects around their aura after charging it to either level 2 or 3 on the power gauge.
