Matasaburou was the weapon partner of the True God Poseidon whom became a ghost after losing his meister and then dying, having been unable to reach nirvana due to the circumstances regarding his loneliness.[1]

According to Spirit Albarn, his weapon form is known to have a soul wavelength at the level of a god; his level of power makes him far more powerful than Spirit's weapon form and places him in a similar level comparable to Asura and the Great Old Ones.[1]
For unknown reasons, Matasaburou's body remained in weapon form after his death. As a ghost, he is able to possess his weapon body, allowing the trident to regain its power.[1]
