The Nakatsukasa clan (中務のクラン, Nakatsukasa no Kuran) is an ancient weapon clan notable for it's ability in inheriting the weapon abilities of their ancestors.

History

The Nakatsukasa clan was established approximately 800 years ago, around the same time demon weapons were created. Their ancestors were directly created by the progenitor of the demon weapon race, Arachne Gorgon. Overtime, the clan became famous for both it's Multi-form ability and the Uncanny Sword transformation.

In the present era, the Nakatsukasa clan is composed of Sanjuro and his significant other, who became the parents of their firstborn, Masamune. In an unusual twist, Masamune inherited the Uncanny Sword, a power typically not bestowed upon the firstborn, while Tsubaki, the second-born, acquired the multi-form ability that is typically associated with the firstborn. As they matured, Masamune developed an inferiority complex due to Tsubaki's gentle nature and the perceived pity he received. Eventually, Masamune chose the path of becoming a kishin, making him an adversary of both the clan and the world. To confront this situation, Tsubaki enrolled in Death Weapon Meister Academy.

Overview

The weapons clan is notable for it's members inheriting the same weapon forms of their ancestors (particularly Japanese-based weaponry) in which includes the weapon forms of a ninja sword, chain scythe, smoke bomb, transformation, and a Japanese sword. For much of the family's history, the firstborn child of a generation typically inherits the majority of the weapons transformations although in Masamune's case, the weapon forms instead skipped him and was later inherited by the second-born and youngest.

The Japanese sword weapon form of the Nakatsukasa Clan is known as the Uncanny Sword, a powerful weapon capable of soul possession and is inhabited by an entity known as the Will of Nakatsukasa, a soul wavelength within the possessor of the Uncanny Sword in which governs it's power towards a Nakatsukasa clans member's meister.

Special Abilities

The Nakatsukasa Clan are known for practicing various special abilities such as:

• Soul Possession (魂憑依, Tamashī Hyōi): A technique in which allows a weapon to possess another's soul and consume it. A specialty of those who inherit the Uncanny Sword, it is also a technique used by ordinary members although to a lesser degree of skill usually.

Weapon Forms

A special clan, members of the Nakatsukasa Clan inherited weapon transformations of their ancestors.

• Uncanny Sword (妖刀, Yōtō): A very formidable and powerful weapon originating from the clan that allows a meister to control their own shadows for offensive attacks. Masamune Nakatsukasa inherited this weapon transformation but was later passed onto his younger sister, Tsubaki Nakatsukasa.
