Guideline Page

This page contains information on an official guideline on the Soul Eaterpedia. It is considered a standard that all editors should follow. Except for minor edits, please make use of the discussion page to propose changes to this policy.

Naming guidelines are set guidelines in which ensure consistency within naming in Soul Eaterpedia. The purpose of these guidelines is to ensure consistency and that the wording on our articles are optimized for the best SEO, making it more visible on search engines such as Google.

Character names[]

On Soul Eaterpedia, character articles are named based off of character's legal real names in most cases. In other cases, a character's chosen nickname may be used instead in case-by-case basis.

Sources[]

The Soul Eaterpedia prefers the usage of official material when naming pages, images, etc. Priority in naming will depend on if the article is present in both manga and anime, manga exclusively, or anime exclusively.

Articles and/or content that exist in manga and anime should follow the manga-related content priorities with a "/Anime" subpage. The anime version of the page should primarily use the anime's correspondent term based on the priority of anime-related content within the page's intro and throughout the articles on Soul Eaterpedia. Articles depicting content that exist only in the anime should follow the anime-related content priorities.

Images[]

As discussed on the Image Policy, the name of an image must relate to what's being uploaded. Names with bad file names risk being deleted and/or changed by an administrator without warning. It should also follow the priority mentioned in the "sources" section.

Conjecture Material[]

Articles made from material in which doesn't have a official name is fine on the Soul Eaterpedia. We encourage to:

  • Give it the best naming you, the editor, can come up with that describes the article being made. If the naming proves too difficult, either propose the page to be made by a more experienced user in the forums or do your best anyway and initiate a discussion on the talk page.
  • Be sure to use the Conjecture template.
