The Shinigami Chop (Shinigami Choppu,脳天直撃死神チョップ,Reaper Chop in the FUNimation dub) is one of Shinigami's signature moves.
Description
He strikes at his target like a regular chop, but only this has enough power to strike down even. Before striking, he usually screams out Shinigami Chop!", landing the blow on 'chop'. He uses this regularly in battle and it has proven to be a fatal blow.
This attack is also used as comical non-lethal move on numerous characters, such as Spirit and Black☆Star, where it is referred to as the "Direct Noggin Shinigami Chop"(脳天直撃死神チョップ, Nōten Chokugeki Shinigami Choppu). As this is used solely in punishing people's silly antics, Shinigami refrains from using his full power, so it only causes little to no damage at all. Though the blow will often leave a large temporary dent in the victim's head and hair, and in the anime, was accompanied by a small fountain of blood.
