Soul Eater GAIDEN (Sōru Ītā GAIDEN,ソウルイーター外伝) are various short stories, and they also serve as commentary from the creator of Soul Eater, Atsushi Ōkubo, with the use of Usher. These stories can only be viewed from within the ending of the volume books of Soul Eater and Soul Eater NOT! These GAIDEN originally began at the end of volumes of Ōkubo's previous manga series, B. Ichi.

Soul Eater NOT!Edit

  • Atsushi-Ya, Usher, and You originated in the GAIDEN for Atsushi Ōkubo's previous manga series, B. Ichi, which appeared at the end of volumes.
  • While Usher is his own character in some stories, he also serve as Atsushi Ōkubo's remarks about his own work. This point is emphasized by the name of the bar, Atsushi-Ya, which is a pun on the author's name. Examples of Ōkubo discussing Soul Eater through Usher's dialogue include Gaiden 4, when he reveals the character design of Medusa as different when she is a witch or a physician.[1]
