Template:Organization (Traitors Scheme)

Traitor (道場破り, Toreta) is the name given to any individual who ventures into the limits of Death City, with the singular purpose of challenging those affiliated with Shibusen in order to test their strength, through means of combat. Thus far, all those that have been observed appear to share some connection with the Witch Shaula Gorgon, who seems to be manipulating them for her own means.

The majority of Traitors are normal humans and as such, are often regarded as no more than mere nuisances to the students of Shibusen and the residents of Death City, rather than posing any real threat to the general population. In most instances, they are so lacking in skill that just a simple demonstration of strength performed by even the lowest echelon of pupils (i.e. the "Not" class) is enough to drive them away, without the necessity for any actual engagement.[1] However, due to the sheer volume of occurrences which take place (with it requiring greater than around 16 per month to be regarded as abnormal), the existence of the Traitors still serves as a constant source of annoyance and in spite of the apparent weakness of most of the Traitors, the potential risk that they constitute means that some students still fear them deeply.[2]

She eventually used Meme Tatane as her experiment for a more advance brainwashing and placed her in Shibusen to serve as a sleeper agent and spy for her.

Shaula also begans creating a stimulant in which is able to craft people into the "perfect soldiers". The stimulant puts anyone she infects under her control and raises their physical ability.

Shaula infects Sid.

As Halloween approaches closer and close, Shaula herself remains hidden from Shibusen's attempts of finding her, having figured she was planning on making her move on the same day of the Battle Festival. Despite their best efforts, Shibusen is not sucessful in finding her and were running out of time. As days passed, Shaula occasionally used Meme in order to steal documents for her. Eventually, Shibusen finds a connection between Meme and Shaula. Sid Barett, who was in charge of the investigation, plans to use Meme to lure out Shaula.

Sid's Death in the manga

Sid is killed by Shaula

On the day before the Battle Festivla, Shaula sets her plans in motion. She went to retrieve Meme Tatane, who was caught while acting out as her spy by Akane and his weapon, Clay. However, Meme succeeds in escaping as she is then controlled by Shaula. Shibusen gives pursuit and Shaula infects some of Sid's forces. Trivia

  • The kanji used to refer to a Traitor (道場破り, Dōjō Yaburi) is actually a reference to outsiders who used to approach various dojo in order to challenge the school's particular Sensei. To do so, the outsider was required beforehand to work his way up through the ranks of students, before he was even considered to have earned the right to such an opportunity. In Soul Eater, these so called Traitors approach Shibusen with similar intentions and likely gained such a name from opposing an organization that is so deeply trusted throughout the world.
