Early LifeEdit

At age 3, Nishimura's family moved from Sacramento, California, to Amarillo, Texas. She started performing in plays and community theater at age 9, and continued through high school.[1] She got her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of North Texas at Denton.[2]

Her first voice acting role was in Desert Punk as Namiko. She also portrays Nadie in El Cazador de la Bruja, Mari Illustrious Makinami in Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance,[4] Lan Fan in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood,[5] and Mikasa Ackerman in Attack on Titan.[6]

She also portrays Chang'e in the multiplayer online video game Smite.

Nishimura reprised her role as Mari Illustrious Makinami for the 2012 EvaNavi San Francisco audio tour guide iPhone app.[7][8]

Soul Eater VoicingEdit

Main article: Mizune Family Nishimura voices both the individual and the merged members of the Mizune Family in the first Soul Eater anime series. The Mizune are mouse witches who are friends with Eruka Frog and join Medusa Gorgon's army to oppose the DWMA and Arachnophobia. Nishimura is currently the only English voice actor for the Mizune Family.

Main article: Marianne Nishimura also voices Marianne, the sloth belonging to a local Death City boy in Soul Eater NOT!. Marianne is taken by Meme Tatane, then left in the care of Eternal Feather before being returned to her owner. Nishimura is currently the only English voice actor for Marianne.

  • When first recording for Marianne, Nishimura did not know Marianne was a sloth: upon seeing the character she was to voice appear on screen during her ADR session, she can be heard laughing and asking whether she actually is to voice a sloth.[9]
